Single Sign-On (SSO) is a session and user authentication service that permits users to log into multiple applications using one set of credentials. Using SSO, you can connect Priava with your chosen Identity Provider (IdP) to make it easier for you to manage your user accounts from a central location.

What has changed?

Previously you could only create, manage and inactivate Priava User Accounts within the administration section of Priava. Using SSO, you can manage all of your user accounts within the IdP and assign relevant users to Priava – rather than creating individual Priava user accounts.

What Identity Providers does Priava support?

Priava’s SSO Integration is built using Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) 2.0 Protocol. SAML is an open standard that allows identity providers (IdP) to pass authorisation credentials to service providers (SP) like Priava. We currently support SSO using the following IdPs:

  • Okta
  • MS Azure AD (Coming Soon)

What are the benefits?

Here are some of the primary benefits you will experience by enabling SSO:

  • Quick Access – SSO makes it easier and quicker for your users to access Priava because they don’t need to reenter passwords across multiple applications – this also means fewer IT requests for help with forgotten passwords.
  • Automated User Management – SSO eliminates the need to set up and manage user accounts manually in Priava. Instead, you can use the integration to create and manage permissions for your existing users.
  • Enhanced Security – One of the most significant benefits of SSO, is that it allows you to grant or revoke access for your users from a central location rather than having to manually update multiple applications.

Important Note for Priava Customers

SSO is free inclusion for all customers, however isn’t compulsory. If you wish to activate SSO for your organisation, you need to configure this feature relevant for your chosen IdP within the Admin section of Priava. Please look at the Help Centre for more information.
